What We Do (and Don't) Service on a Tesla
Teslas are largely self-diagnosing through their onboard touchscreen and mobile app, which handles most software-level monitoring on its own. For the hardware side (tires, suspension, brakes, and the separate 12V battery) we use standard automotive service and diagnostic equipment, the same tools we use on every vehicle in the shop.
We do not perform high-voltage battery pack service, drivetrain repair, or firmware/software work, those require Tesla-specific equipment and training and stay with Tesla service centers. We'll always tell you plainly if a repair falls outside what we can safely and properly handle.

No. High-voltage battery pack diagnostics and repair require Tesla-specific equipment and training that stays with Tesla service centers. We handle everything else a Tesla needs mechanically: tires, suspension, brakes, the 12V battery, and general inspections.
Instant torque and a heavier curb weight (from the battery pack) both accelerate tire wear compared to a typical gas vehicle. Regular tire rotation and keeping alignment in spec make a real difference in how long a set of tires lasts.
Regenerative braking means the friction brakes do far less work than on a traditional vehicle, so the rotors don't get the regular light use that keeps surface rust from forming. It's usually cosmetic, but caliper and rotor maintenance still matters to prevent them from seizing over time.
For the mechanical components we service (tires, suspension, brakes, the 12V battery) no. Under federal law (the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act), independent shops can perform this kind of maintenance without voiding coverage on unrelated systems. Warranty coverage specific to the high-voltage battery and drivetrain stays with Tesla.
